This initiative focuses on eradicating poverty through comprehensive community development programs. It aligns with Africa Connect SDG1: No Poverty Investments.
The No Poverty Investment aims to provide support for underserved communities in Harare by funding initiatives such as job training programs, micro-financing for small businesses, and essential services like healthcare and education.
Investors can choose to fund specific programs that address poverty in targeted areas or contribute to a general fund that supports a range of poverty alleviation projects in Harare. The total investment required is $3 million, with projected returns coming from microfinance interest, job placement services, and community development initiatives over 8 years.
The Prosperity Zimbabwe Foundation is the primary partner for this project. As a well-established organization focusing on poverty alleviation, they will manage the on-ground operations, including program implementation and community engagement. The Foundation has pledged to provide $1 million in seed funding and leverage additional funds through local and international grants.
This project aligns with SDG 1: No Poverty, focusing on reducing poverty in all its forms by creating economic opportunities and improving access to essential services.
